Chase Silseth shows off cutter as Angels hold off Brewers
In a game that started an hour earlier than originally planned, as a concession to an approaching rain storm, the Angels held on for a 4-3 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday afternoon in Tempe, Ariz., and improved to 4-1 this spring.Right-hander Chase Silseth didn’t have the start he was looking for, giving up two runs and three hits in three innings, but it was not a complete loss.
Anthony Rendon had an RBI single and Brandon Drury delivered an RBI double in the first inning. “ has a really good command of the strike zone and I like his approach against right-handed so far,” Manager Phil Nevin said. “It’s something he knows he needed to work on a little bit and the at-bats were really good today.” … Mike Trout walked, singled and lined out in three trips to the plate over five innings. … Hunter Renfroe singled to lead off the fourth inning and scored a run on a balk.
