This win meant a lot more than just free wings.

The first Chase Elliott win after his extended winless streak was always going to be an emotional one. The mixture of legacy, a Hooters paint scheme, and overcoming demons turned Elliott's first Texas Motor Speedway victory on Sunday night into a classic for the driver. This win means more to NASCAR fans than just free wings. The last time a Hooters car finished in victory lane was on June 14, 1992. Ultimately, it was the late Alan Kulwicki's last win.

On the second-to-last restart, Elliott took the lead from the outside row as a caution flag waved for Harrison Burton, the latest driver to get caught up in the 'Calamity Corner' that is Turn 2. On the restart, Elliott started at the bottom with Hamlin to his outside. Once clear, Elliott pulled air off of Hamlin's nose, and the driver of the No. 11 car went spinning into his wall, becoming the third driver to crash from the second-place position in Sunday's race.
