Last week, the former La Costa Canyon High School star was named to the USA Olympic beach volleyball team
As a senior at La Costa Canyon High School in 2006, Chase Budinger was asked to name his favorite sport.
Joining the AVP Tour in 2018, Budinger paired with five different partners before teaming with the 6-4 Evans, who played at UC Santa Barbara. Budinger and Evans have been working on their game. Fearing the six-week layoff between their last match and the Olympics. Budinger and Evans have entered a tournament in Switzerland to tune up.
“I love the way Chase plays. He moves, he jumps and being 6-7 helps. He has long limbs, length and skills. And Evans is playing so much better. So I give them a chance to medal.”“So I’m not at all surprised at what he has accomplished,” Featherstone said. “And I’m not surprised he has had success on the beach because he was always on the beach, playing.
