Charles Barkley wasn’t pleased with LeBron James after he alluded to possible retirement when the Lakers were swept by the Nuggets.
“Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!” Barkley answered when asked if he thought James’ public retirement pondering was intended to keep the attention on him after being swept. “Because he knew those fools on ESPN were gonna talk about it! They’re still talking about it! I actually turned my television off the next day because the first two blocks were all about LeBron instead of what the Denver Nuggets accomplished.”“I think he did it intentionally,” he said of James. “There’s no way he’s retiring.
In James’ postgame presser following the final loss to Denver, he said, “We’ll see what happens going forward. I don’t know… I’ve got a lot to think about, to be honest. Just for me personally, going forward, the game of basketball, I’ve got a lot to think about.” Charles Barkley looks on prior to game three of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat at Kaseya Center.NBAE via Getty Images
