A charging e-bike is the likely cause of a fire in a flat that killed a mother and her two children, investigators have said NickMDuffy reports

Emergency services were called to the flats at 1.08am on Friday, with more than 30 firefighters attending. People have been warned to avoid charging e-bikes overnight, to not leave them charging for any longer than needed, and to plug the cable into a main socket rather than an extension lead., we have so many electrical gadgets these days that all require charging, people just need to be aware of the risks and put steps in place to ensure they are being charged safety.”
Cambridgeshire Constabulary said: “Our thoughts remain with the family, friends and the local community following this tragic incident.”Sarah Merritt, head teacher at King’s Hedges School, said: “We’re really saddened to hear about the tragic deaths of Lilly, Oliver and their mother. “The children were part of our King’s Hedges family and the whole school is devastated by this terrible tragedy.“Our thoughts remain with the family and friends. As a school, there is no easy way to deal with this sad news, but we will get through this together.”
