Police believe the women had earlier attempted to carjack a woman on Sladen Street but were unsuccessful.

The man was attacked by the pair near a strip of shops on Lurline Street in Cranbourne about 8.40pm.READ MORE:A crime scene was established following the stabbing. "I was standing out the front and I saw the gentleman get out of his car and bang on a pizza shop door," one witness told reporters today.

"His friend got him in the car and asked where was the nearest hospital. He had been stabbed, and I opened the door and there was blood everywhere. "I got on the phone to triple zero and his hands were sliced up, I didn't notice the neck wounds and some more people came out."He remains in hospital in a stable condition.Don Vittorio's Pizzeria owner Dominic described the scene as "chaotic".

"One of the young boys asked for some help he said his friend had been stabbed, it was a hectic situation," he said.Police confirmed one woman was arrested at a convenience store on Koo Wee Rup Road in Pakenham, while the other was arrested at a residential address on Ballarto Road in Pakenham.A 33-year-old Mornington woman and a 28-year-old Carrum Downs woman have both been charged with aggravated carjacking, attempted aggravated carjacking and intentionally cause serious injury.
