CEBU CITY — Charges were formally filed against the eight persons who were arrested in Friday's rally against the passage of the anti-terrorism bill in front of the University of the Philippine (UP) Cebu College.

Arrested were 22-year-old Joahanna Veloso, associate vice president of National Union of Students of the Philippines ; 21-year-old Bern Canedo, vice president of the UP Cebu Student Council; Dyan Gumabao of the Kabataan Partylist-Cebu, 60-year-Jaime Paglinawan, chairperson of BAYAN-Central Visayas; 29-year-old Janry Ubal of Food Not Bombs-Cebu, and 26-year-old Al Ingking, a UP alumnus and a 19-year-old bystander.Perez said monetary support has poured in for the detainees’ bail.
