Alec Baldwin was facing two counts of involuntary manslaughter after cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was shot and killed on the budget western film Rust.
"We are pleased with the decision to dismiss the case against Alec Baldwin and we encourage a proper investigation into the facts and circumstances of this tragic accident," Baldwin's lawyers, Luke Nikas and Alex Spiro, said in a statement on Thursday .
Ms Gutierrez-Reed is due to appear at a preliminary hearing over involuntary manslaughter charges on May 3 . She intends to plead not guilty and has maintained she has no idea how live rounds ended up in the prop gun.
