A man has been charged over a fatal crash in regional NSW earlier this week. About 4.20pm on Monday, a Mitsubishi Triton and a Ford Falcon collided on Lue Rd at Mount Knowles, near Mudgee in the state’s mid west. Both cars then left the road, with one crashing into a nearby paddock while the other crashed into a creek. The Mitsubishi passenger, an 18-year-old man, died at the scene. The Mitsubishi driver, aged 25, was flown to Westmead Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
He was taken to Mudgee Police Station but was released pending further investigation. A crime scene was established, and an investigation launched. Following further inquiries, the 29-year-old man was arrested on Thursday. He has been charged with dangerous driving occasioning death drive manner dangerous, dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm drive manner dangerous, negligent driving occasioning death and negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm.
