Strike action begins tomorrow
Emirates Arena staff and Traffic Wardens have both voted for strike action with the inaugural event of the competition to take place at Chris Hoy Velodrome tomorrow morning.Pickets are set to be held outside the Emirates Arena and Cadogan Square Car Park. Around 70 members of Unite the Union are employed by Glasgow Life at the Emirates Arena and City Parking.
“Any disruption caused is due to the chronic failure by Glasgow City Council, COSLA and the Scottish Government to improve on the five per cent offer which has been overwhelmingly rejected. Unite fully supports its members who are leading the fight for better jobs, pay and conditions across local government. We will be with them every step of the way to ensure they get what they deserve.”
