'I went for a walk at 8:30am. When I came home it was all cordoned off'
People and living around the scene of a reported shooting in Preston described scenes of chaos and confusion as roads were cordoned off and CSI investigators scrambled to the area this morning .
One man has been arrested after the police confirmed they had received reports of a firearms discharge at 9am . It is not believed anyone was injured during the incident.The owner of Falcoln News said: "I went out for a walk around 8:30am and everything was normal. When I came back, about an hour later, everything was closed and there were police ribbons across the road.
Another resident, who lives close to the cordon, said he stepped out of his front door to see traffic at a standstill and the road taped off.Workmen at a business, next to the cordon arrived for work around 7:30am, shortly before the crime scene was put in place. They said they did not see or hear anything unusual. A police spokesperson said: "You may have seen our earlier post around some road closures in the Preston area this morning, and we want to tell you why.
"A man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and is currently in custody. No one is thought to have been injured as a result of the firearms discharge, and it is being treated as an isolated incident, with no wider threat to the public.
