Is New York City Mayor Eric Adams changing any COVID policies while quarantining for his diagnosis?

This past weekend, Adams tested positive for COVID-19, the global infection whose decreasing number of cases have changed policies and opened much of the city back up for business. The number of cases has now increased.

According to Scientific American, the BA.2 variant of the COVID-19 infection was originally detected in South Africa Last November. Right now, the Northeastern part of the United States has been hit hard with new COVID-19 cases and is mostly responsible for the increase in numbers. “If we fail to act now, knowing that every previous wave of infections has been followed by a wave of hospitalizations, and then a wave of deaths, it will be too late for many of our residents,” said Bettigole to reporters this week. “This is our chance to get ahead of the pandemic, to put our masks on until we have more information about the severity of this new variant.”
