A few showers are possible on Saturday as temperatures stay well below average. The highest rain chances will arrive on Sunday.
After a dry first week of November, San Antonio finally saw some moisture fill rain gauges Thursday and into Friday morning. Officially, the city received 0.53 inch of rain. While it’s not a huge total, it’s helpful in lowering the year’s cumulative rainfall deficit. Through Friday, the Alamo City has gotten 18.03 inches of rain in 2023, which is 11.09 inches below average for the year to date. More rain is on the way this weekend, and totals could be significantly higher this time around.
As the low pressure system approaches South Texas from northern Mexico, a large swath of moisture will move in from the southwest. After a few showers and some drizzle Sunday morning, rainfall chances will increase by the afternoon and evening. Rain chances are expected to stay high throughout Sunday night, and they’ll continue into Monday. Thunderstorms are not expected with this weather system. Rather, we are expecting steady light to moderate rainfall for a long period.
