Champions Cup winner Dave Ewers will join the DHL Stormers to alleviate their injury headache in the back row and mentor up-and-comers Paul de Villiers and Divan Fuller.

The DHL Stormers on Thursday announced that Ewers will join the team on a short-term contract ahead of the 2024-25 season.

The Stormers are expecting to be without Deon Fourie, Evan Roos and BJ Dixon for the first part of their URC campaign, while Hacjivah Dayimani has departed for France. Part of Ewers’ responsibilities will be to use his experience to aid the growth of up-and-coming loose forwards Fuller and De Villiers.
