The Chambersburg School District announced Saturday that they will be utilizing a detection system for their January 13 home basketball game in an effort to "improve safety and security." The decision comes just shy of one week after a student allegedly stabbed another with a knife at Chambersburg Area Middle School South.
Additionally, the district is asking those who plan on attending the game to have their cell phones, keys, and all metal items removed from pockets, and to arrive early. If the detection system alerts on an unauthorized item, you will be directed to return it to your vehicle before attempting re-entry.
