Russell Heidelburg , the Charmain of the Water Works and Sewer Board of Prichard , has passed away, according to a statement released for the board.
“Mr. Russell Heidelburg, Chairman of Prichard Water Works and Sewer Board, passed away today, August 2, 2024. ‘We are deeply saddened hearing of his loss and the Board will surely miss him, and his leadership,’ said Vice Chairman Earnestine Moore. ‘Mr. Heidelburg will surely be missed by Prichard Water Works and Sewer Board and its employees.’
“Mr. Heidelburg served as Board Chairman for at least two terms and served as a member for several terms. He was committed to PWWSB and serving customers living in City of Prichard and Chickasaw. He was dedicated to ensuring PWWSB delivered clean safe drinking water to customers living in the City of Prichard and Chickasaw. He spent numerous hours every week working with PWWSB customers, employees, and local and state elected officials. His dedication showed in his work with the system.
Mr. Heidelberg served the citizens of Prichard with distinction and unwavering dedication as a board commissioner. His commitment to our community and his exemplary leadership left a lasting impact on all who knew him. Our deepest condolences go out to his wife Hazel, their family, and friends during this time of grief. We stand with you, offering our support and strength as you navigate this difficult period.
