Red Cross Treats First Patients in Eastern Chad as Wounded Arrive From Sudan: Chad health Sudan
A surgical team from the International Committee of the Red Cross has deployed to eastern Chad to treat an influx of gunshot wound victims seeking safety and medical care after fleeing fighting in neighboring Sudan.
Most healthcare facilities in Sudan have stopped operating due to a lack of electricity and running water, as well as dwindling medical and food supplies, forcing patients in need to seek care in a safer location.

Despite Blackouts, Uganda Plans to Sell Power to South SudanA power sales agreement was signed between Uganda's energy ministry and the South Sudan Electricity Corporation on June 27, 2023. The deal will see Uganda supply 400 kilo-volts of power to the towns of Kaya, Oraba, Elegu and Nimule in South Sudan, to boost socio-economic activities in the border areas. It is not clear how much Uganda intends to sell the power, there remains many complaints regarding power blackouts in the country and especially in the West Nile region. Uganda, through, Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited (UETCL), which is in charge of bulk electricity supplies, imports and exports electricity to different East African countries including Rwanda and Kenya, which mainly requests for support to its western grid.
