Olympic swimmer Chad le Clos pulled the wool over fans' eyes after sharing an Instagram post that implied he had popped the question to his girlfriend, model Jeanni Mulder. Chad shared a picture of a woman's left hand with some impressive bling on it alongside a cryptic caption. While most of us tried not to get duped on Monday, April Fools' Day, it wasn't always easy to see through the lies.

Chad's fans had to retract their congratulatory messages after he returned to the 'gram to let everyone know that the 'engagement post' was a joke. Chad and Jeanni have been seeing each other since late last year and even though they're evidently smitten, it seems like everyone will have to wait a little longer for them to take the next step.
