Chicago fire officials battled an apartment building blaze on South Kenwood Avenue in Hyde Park; 1 person was injured, CFD and CPD officials said.Chicago fire crews battled a massive fire for hours in an apartment building in the city's South Side Hyde Park neighborhood Tuesday morning that left a woman critically injured.
Chicago police said a woman was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition from the incident, which began about 3:30 a.m. Both those in the building ablaze and those in surrounding buildings were asked to leave their homes early Tuesday.
