Federal authorities have accused the Florida man of committing “a domestic terrorist attack.”
By Mark Berman Mark Berman National news reporter Email Bio Follow March 21 at 9:14 AM Cesar Sayoc, the Florida man accused of mailing explosive devices to more than a dozen politicians and media figures who have been critical of President Trump, is expected to plead guilty Thursday, according to federal court records.
He faces a 30-count indictment, including charges of illegally mailing explosives and using explosives to commit a felony. It is unclear what he may plead guilty to on Thursday. His attorney did not respond to a request for comment. His van became a prominent symbol online after his arrest, adorned with images of Trump and criticisms of Trump’s foes, including several of the individuals who authorities said were targeted by the packages.
“There are folks who just don’t like the president, and everything that goes wrong, they’re going to look for a way to tie that to the president,” Mulvaney said on “Fox News Sunday.”
