KOTA KINABALU: Most patients not affected by the Covid-19 virus can still seek medical attention at the six designated hospitals for Covid-19 cases in Sabah, says state Health Director Datuk Dr Christina Rundi.
She said the six hospitals – Queen Elizabeth here, Women and Children’s Hospital in Likas, Keningau Hospital, Tawau Hospital, Lahad Hospital and the Duchess of Kent Hospital in Sandakan – have specified wards for Covid-19 patients.
She said there are enough beds to cater to Covid-19 cases at the moment, and they had also drawn up backup plans in case of more surges. As of 5pm Wednesday , the number of positive cases was at 103, while Selangor and Putrajaya recorded 192 and 119 cases respectively. “We also have a list of personnel in training, those undergoing further training and volunteers who we can also call for backup, ” she said.
