FOX 7 Austin's CarloOn_Fox7 is giving an update on tonight's severe weather, including the tornado watch in effect in Milam County. WATCH NOW:

Thunderstorms are expected to continue to try to form this evening before dissipating after sunset.

The storms are fighting the cap over central Texas and are currently losing that fight. Any showers that have formed have pretty quickly fallen apart in theviewing area, however farther north those storms have created havoc and will be more likely to become strong and severe. Counties to the north are also covered under a tornado watch which continues through 11 p.m. Central Texas, including Austin and the northern half of the FOX 7 Austin viewing area is in a slight risk for severe weather, specifically for large hail. That slight risk is expected to be paired down as the sun sets and the severe threat diminishes.

North Texas storms continue to impact us here in Central Texas. Chances of storms in some counties, with some potentially seeing tennis ball sized hail into the evening. Temperatures will warm up into record highs tomorrow.Today we will warm up into the mid-80s. Tomorrow will be even hotter with a high of about 90 which could tie the record of 90 set in 2017.

Hot temperatures continue Tuesday before a cold front arrives Wednesday. Then our temperatures decrease, and rain chances increase for the rest of the week.
