The fight broke out around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the area of 63rd Street and Center Drive, law enforcement sources said. Responding officers found a 24-year-old woman at the scene who had been cut several times. The victim was taken to NY Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Hospital, where she was expected to recover, according to sources.The suspect had not been caught and was last seen running toward Heckscher Park with two other people, a law enforcement source told NBC New York. It appeared that the suspect and victim have known each other, stemming back to an incident in December between the two. Tuesday's incident was seemingly a territorial dispute between the pair, the law enforcement source said.
