Robert Connor Castro pleaded guilty to crimes in two counties, including setting fire to a home where someone was inside.

A York County man pleaded guilty to arson charges in two counties, police announced Thursday.

Southern York Regional police said Robert Connor Castro, of New Freedom, took the plea in October on five counts of aggravated arson where a person is present inside a property and five counts of reckless burning or exploding. The conviction stems from fires Castro set on six vehicles and a house in New Freedom borough between Jan. 2020 and May 2021, police said.in January, where one person was inside. He also broke into several cars after setting the fire.

The cases from both counties were consolidated into the plea agreement, according to online court dockets. Castro was ordered to serve between 4.5 and 9 years in prison in November, police said. He was also ordered to pay restitution and court costs.
