Lancaster County officials have not provided any updates on the inmate's condition.

An inmate at Lancaster County Prison was taken to the hospital today after being found unresponsive in his cell, according to officials. The inmate was found during a routine check of his cell around 11:46 a.m. Tuesday, the Lancaster County Commissioner’s Office said in a statement. Prison staff did CPR on the inmate, used the AED and called for an ambulance, the county said. EMS conducted “lifesaving efforts” on the inmate and took him to a local hospital for further treatment.Though not identified, the county said the inmate was being held on robbery, conspiracy and retail theft charges.
Lancaster Bureau of Police is investigating, as is standard protocol for this kind of situation, the county said.
