Severe thunderstorms are possible in and near the watch area through 10 p.m. Monday.
That area under the watch, which is simply that the threat for storms exists, includes the following central Pa. counties: Franklin, Perry, Dauphin, Schuylkill, Lebanon, Cumberland, Adams, York and Lancaster.As of 3 p.m., there was a cluster of storms north of Harrisburg that was moving to the northeast, and small pockets of rain and storms scattered across the central part of the state.
Radar shows new storms potentially popping up in quantity and intensity around the dinner hour and moving from west to east across the area.where three tornadoes were suspected to have touched down. Severe thunderstorms watches were issues for much of the same area from Sunday afternoon into the evening.
The possibility of storms drops to 40% on Tuesday and disappears from the forecast on Wednesday and into Thursday night. Here’s the forecast for the next three days for Harrisburg,A slight chance of showers between noon and 1pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 85. West wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
