Gettysburg police say the student was crossing Washington Street at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue when a 2008 Toyota van, driven by a 78-year-old Gettysburg woman, hit her around 11 a.m. The girl was taken to WellSpan Gettysburg Hospital before being flown to a trauma center in York, police said.Gettysburg College released the following statement about the incident:
