Central Ohio is gearing up for its first significant snowfall of the season, with two to four inches expected to blanket the region.

Central Ohio is gearing up for its first significant snowfall of the season, with two to four inches expected to blanket the region Monday night to Tuesday morning.The Ohio Department of Transportation is taking proactive measures to ensure road safety, deploying 150 crews to work through the night, salting and brining roads to prepare for the snow.

ODOT Public Information Officer Hannah Salem emphasized the importance of keeping roads safe for morning commuters.ODOT Press Secretary Matt Bruning added, "Today they've been out doing a lot of pre-treating, loading trucks, getting things ready to go so that when they get here to our facilities they can jump in the trucks and get out there and hit the road.""I'm not going to lie to you, just drive slow and honestly turn off all my distractions like no radio or nothing. put my phone up and just make sure all my devices are charged just in case but try not to be a distracted driver," one driver shared how he deals with the snow. Professional drivers, like trucker Ramsin Nathan, stress the importance of preparation. "We have to be prepared for everything. Whatever happens on the road. We got to check the weather, always. We got to check our trucks and maintenance everything. We got to be prepared 100%," Nathan said.ODOT urges drivers to allow extra time for travel, maintain appropriate speeds, and give road crews the space they need to work safely. As Salem noted, "If the snow hits at six a.m., expect the morning commute to be a little bit more difficult than if it were to hit at midnight.
