Central Ohio is under a Cold Weather Advisory, with dangerously cold temperatures and wind chills expected through Tuesday. A winter storm is also being monitored for the weekend. The forecast includes early light snow, a frigid Monday and Tuesday, a possible wintry mix midweek and a developing winter storm. Residents are urged to take precautions against the extreme cold. Additional news includes a chicken product recall, a man in custody for threats, a triple homicide, and a country club embezzlement indictment.

A Cold Weather Advisory has been issued for Central Ohio, with frigid temperatures and dangerous wind chill s expected through Tuesday morning. Residents should prepare for exceptionally cold conditions, including the potential for wind chill s as low as 15 degrees below zero. The forecast calls for early light snow today, followed by a significant temperature drop, setting the stage for a bitterly cold Monday and Tuesday.

A light wintry mix is anticipated midweek, with even colder temperatures expected by the weekend as a winter storm approaches from the south. The advisory highlights the need for caution and preparedness as these extreme conditions pose a risk to health and safety. The forecast for tonight includes very cold, breezy conditions with partly cloudy skies and wind chills ranging from -5 to -15. The low temperature is expected to be around 7 degrees. Friday will see mostly cloudy skies and a slight chance of light snow, with a high of 24 degrees. Sunday is predicted to be mostly cloudy and very cold, with a high of 19 degrees. Good Monday morning everyone! We are expecting some very cold temperatures over the next couple of days, and then it gets even colder by the weekend. We are starting off today with flurries and light snow showers. Be mindful of slippery spots as you head out the door. Temperatures this morning will be in the lower 20s. Temperatures will fall into the teens by midday and then into the single digits by the evening as the clouds start clearing. Winds will be out of the west at 15-25+ mph, which will cause our wind chills to be in the single digits midday then below zero this afternoon through tomorrow afternoon. Wind chills may dip as cold as -5 to -15 later today, tonight, and early Tuesday. A Cold Weather Advisory has been issued for all of Ohio from midday Monday until midday Tuesday. Winds will become a little lighter, but still breezy, tomorrow. Partly cloudy and very cold tonight with a low of 7 then we remain partly cloudy with a high around 20. Midweek will be damp with some light rain/snow wintry mix showers. It will also be windy as we warm to a high around 39. Slippery roads are also possible again on Wednesday. Cold and quiet for the end of the week, but we are monitoring a major winter storm passing by nearby heading into the weekend. Thursday and Friday have a very slim chance of snow, with a few flurries possible. We will be partly cloudy on Thursday with a high around 3,2 then mostly cloudy on Friday with a high around 24. A developing winter storm will move across the Southern United States Friday into Saturday. Right now, it may barely clip Ohio as we head into Saturday, but we will need to keep an eye on the track because if the storm shifts north much, then we will have a lot of snow for Ohio. I am going with a 20% chance of snow on Friday, then a 30% chance on Saturday, but Southern Ohio looks to be closer to a 60% chance of snow on Saturday. It will be very cold for the weekend with a high of around 15 on Saturday, then 19 on Sunday, based on the storm taking the southern track. Mostly cloudy on Sunday as well with a few flurries. Have a good one! This period of severe cold weather is expected to significantly impact daily life, necessitating adjustments to travel plans, outdoor activities, and the protection of vulnerable populations. Residents are advised to stay informed through official weather updates and take precautions to prevent frostbite and hypothermia. Beyond the immediate cold snap, other news items include a recall of chicken products sold in seven states, including Ohio, due to potential listeria monocytogenes contamination, reminding consumers to check food safety information. A man is currently in custody in a Franklin County jail after Hilliard Police said he threatened to shoot at people in traffic. 25-year-old Chase Osborne is now in custody. Also, a Columbus man was among three victims in a triple homicide in Osceola County, Fla., over the weekend, underscoring the ongoing concerns about safety and security. Finally, a Hamilton County grand jury indicted a former golf pro turned controller of an upscale country club on charges he stole nearly $1 million, showing the importance of financial responsibility and accountability. These separate incidents highlight a range of community concerns, underscoring the complexity of local news and the importance of staying informed
