On Monday, Matagorda County shared they too are monitoring the disturbance. Regardless of its evolution, the disturbance is expected to bring significant rainfall to Southeast Texas, raising the risk of flash flooding from mid to late week “Our greatest concern remains the coastal areas—especially low‑lying zones prone to flooding,” stated Matagorda County Judge Bobby Seiferman. Emergency officials have boosted communications and coordination with local government, public safety departments, and utility partners. The City of Bay City and City of Palacios have crews on standby, and are prepared to respond as conditions warrant.
