Bobby Lennox celebrated his birthday at his favourite restaurant, just a short drive from his seaside home.
Celtic and Scotland great Bobby Lennox has been pictured celebrating his 80th birthday with family at his favourite restaurant. Cecchini's in Ardrossan, Ayrshire, said it was "an absolute honour" to host the Lisbon Lion for the celebrations.
The post, accompanied by Scotland and Italy flag emojis, said: "It was an absolute honour to host Bobby Lennox & his family for his 80th Birthday. Happy Birthday Bobby." Lennox still lives in the neighbouring town of Saltcoats, where he was born and raised. A statue of him was erected in the town in 2018.
And he scored one of the goals in Scotland's famous 3-2 win over then World Champions England at Wembley the same year. It was the first defeat England had suffered since winning the trophy at the same stadium the previous year.
