Celtic fans have been left stunned by Reo Hatate’s finish in the first half of their convincing victory over St Mirren on Sunday .
The Japan international put his side 2-0 ahead on 33 minutes after Callum McGregor opened the scoring just three minutes into the game. Hatate found the back of the net with a lovely left-footed half-volley after running onto Daizen Maeda’s cushioned header inside the box. Celtic went on to win the game 3-0 following a fine finish from Alistair Johnston on 71 minutes, ensuring Brendan Rodgers’s side sit two points clear of Rangers at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
Hatate was the standout player for the Glasgow giants against St Mirren, underlying his importance for his side as they prepare to lose star midfielder Matt O’Riley in a £30million deal to Brighton.Celtic fans were impressed by Hatate’s excellent goal in Paisley, with one labelling it an “absolutely incredible” strike.
