Hoops chiefs recorded record annual profits in their latest figures this week but not all fans are happy as Fraser Wilson discovered.
Celtic flexed their financial muscle with record breaking accounts on Monday but supporters reckon too much has been stashed in the Parkhead biscuit tin.
David Bryce, Troon, blasted: “I have no doubt Lawwell and the directors will be slapping each other’s backs regarding the unbelievable financial figures. However can they please explain why, with so much cash in reserve, we are going into the Champions League with the worst Celtic squad I can remember? We will be trounced and the finger will be pointed at Lawwell and his cohorts because the transfer window was an absolute disgrace.
Arrin Geddes, Irvine, said: “Feyenoord might prove to be too powerful for a young Celtic team in the early stages of their development but if you’re dining at the top table you have to look like you should be there. Here’s hoping Celtic can produce a performance for the occasion.”
