Celtic fan lunged at Rangers supporter with screwdriver following Old Firm defeat
A Celtic fan lunged at a brazen Rangers supporter with a screwdriver following a row after an Old Firm game.
Hay then fled the scene in Mr McCafferty's unattended car which had the engine running. Hay pled guilty on Monday at Glasgow Sheriff Court to assaulting Mr McCafferty and stealing his car. Prosecutor Heather Naismith said: "Mr McCafferty is a Rangers fan and by his own admission he intended to antagonise any Celtic fans he passed. He was sounding his horn and cheering out of his window."
He stopped in the middle of the road and left the key in the ignition and engine running before retrieving the baseball bat.
