There were also hip-hop and R&B performances by other local artists throughout the night, but the standout entertainer was the event’s host,, 26 another well-known drag performer in Cleveland. She leaned on her raunchy humor, inviting personality and wit to keep the audience engaged and laughing, often filling time between acts.
One of the participants who rose to the top was Chazz Hawks, a fashion designer who didn’t have his works in the show but fearlessly walked the runway dressed in his original design, which was a matching overcoat and pants constructed from what appeared to be a homely quilt or tablecloth or both. After about 15 looks took the runway, a surprise occurred. Boyd returned to the stage with models-turned-dancers sporting her sneaker corsets. They broke out into a choreographed dance number, which remixed familiar hits into techno house music.
