A guide sent to stars suggests they shop their own closets, wear vintage or choose sustainable designers for the night.
We’re just over a week away from the 2020 BAFTAs kicking off in London, and the British Film Academy has issued some applause-worthy notes to celebrities surrounding red carpet dressing.
This year, the BAFTAs have teamed up with the London College of Fashion’s Centre for Sustainability to create a guide for stars to help them choose more sustainable options for their red carpet appearances. The guide encourages celebrities to re-wear a piece they have previously worn, to wear or to choose a design by a designer/brand who focuses on sustainability in their designs. Suggestions include Stella McCartney, Reformation, Phoebe English and Rejina Pyo., a spokesperson for BAFTA said, “Sustainability is very important to BAFTA and we’re doing more than ever before. The goal is that the EE British Academy Film Awards 2020 will be carbon neutral, working towards having a net positive impact on the environment.
