100 Black Men of San Antonio, said now that Juneteenth is an official federal holiday, it’s bringing awareness inside and outside of the Black community.
He said the commemorations resonate in San Antonio, one of the cities that’s experienced human trafficking of young women and men. Celebrating San Antonio’s African American artists, the Juneteenth Freedom Celebration, a three-day event, On Sunday, the celebration continues from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., with Juneteenth at Legacy Park, 103 W. Houston St. Scheduled guest appearances at the free event include Andrea “Vocab” Sanderson, the first Black Poet Laureate of San Antonio. Additional performances will feature the San Antonio Ballet, Buffalo Soldiers and Fiesta royalty.
