Plans for several new residential developments in Cedar Lake were placed on indefinite hold Tuesday by the Board of Zoning Appeals after officials say they need more time to gather additional information about the projects.
The BZA canceled an Oct. 17 public hearing to discuss the residential tax increment financing district projects. The town council followed by tabling the projects.
Tabling the motion for the developments essentially kills them without debate and a vote until when and if officials recall the measures for consideration. By tabling the projects it means the town council, plan commission and board of zoning appeals cannot discuss the projects in their meetings.
