CEBU CITY, Philippines — Cebu mayors are backing the statement of President Rodrigo Duterte against allowing the resumption of classes while there is no vaccine available for the coronavirus
In a statement, the leadership of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines Cebu Chapter said it is the obligation of the Department of Education to protect the lives of children while promoting their thrust for education.
“The State, as parens patriae of all Filipino children, has an obligation to protect their welfare,” Frasco said.
