The provincial board approved Resolution No. 2639-2023 in a special session held via teleconferencing on Thursday, July 27.
Under a state of calamity, Gov. Jonvic C. Remulla is authorized to use P30 million from the quick response fund of the 2023 Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund to assist residents affected by the typhoon. Heavy rains brought by “Egay” and the Southwest Monsoon disrupted the livelihood of agricultural workers in Cavite, including more than 23,000 fishermen in nine coastal areas.
The inclement weather also caused damage to corn and rice farms, as per the provincial government’s initial rapid damage assessment and needs analysis.
