Cathay Pacific said John Slosar will resign as chairman, less than a month after its CEO stepped aside

CPCAY -1.71% said John Slosar will resign as chairman, less than a month after its CEO stepped aside when the airline came under fire from Beijing because some employees took part in antigovernment protests.Mr. Healy, 53, holds a number of roles at Swire Group, the parent company of Cathay’s largest shareholder, Hong Kong-listed Swire Pacific Ltd. The resignation and new the appointment will take effect at the conclusion of the company’s board meeting, which will be held Nov. 6. Last month, Cathay CEO Rupert Hogg resigned after the airline drew Beijing’s ire when some of its employees took part in the antigovernment protests that have rocked Hong Kong.
