Australian actress Cate Blanchett has left fans puzzled after claiming she was middle class during a press conference at the Cannes Film Festival despite having a net worth of about $95 million.
Aussie actress Cate Blanchett has raised eyebrows at the Cannes Film Festival this week after calling herself" middle class " despite her eye-watering net worth.
“I'm white, I'm privileged, I'm middle class and I think one can be accused of having a bit of a white saviour complex,” Blanchett said. “But to be perfectly honest, my interaction with refugees in the field and also in resettled environments has totally changed my perspective on the world and I’m utterly grateful for that,” she said.

Blanchett was raised in Melbourne and now mainly resides in the UK with her playwright husband Andrew Upton and their four kids.
