Officers caught two men stealing a catalytic converter at the Holiday Inn on Beta Drive around 4:45 a.m. Aug. 12 after employees heard sawing coming from underneath a vehicle in the parking lot. The Cleveland men, both 39, were arrested and were found to have already removed another catalytic converter from a car in the lot.
MAYFIELD, Ohio – Officers caught two men stealing a catalytic converter at the Holiday Inn on Beta Drive around 4:45 a.m. Aug. 12 after employees heard sawing coming from underneath a vehicle in the parking lot.
The Cleveland men, both 39, were arrested and were found to have already removed another catalytic converter from a car in the lot. Later that morning, a guest at the neighboring Hilton Garden Inn reported the catalytic converter had been removed from her vehicle. Detectives were able to match the vehicle with a catalytic converter found inside the trunk of the suspect’s car.
