The one day event will feature a pride march and live entertainment.
Pride — both of which draw crowds in the thousands every year — the event’s organizers say they hope the inaugural festival will be just the beginning.
Catalina Pride will feature performances at its Wrigley Stage from DJ Asha, who, according to her website, “is comfortable spinning a selection of Top 40, Hip Hop, EDM, Old School, RnB and Latin.” Asha is a Pride veteran — having performed at LA Pride six times.Long Beach Pride will hold a virtual celebration on Sunday, May 16. This is the second consecutive year without a physical Pride Parade after the 2020 celebration was canceled amid the early stages of the coronavirus pandemic.

“It makes me happy to see this many people here. Sometimes you think we don’t exist,” Robert Tovar of Yucaipa, right, says.
