The live-action Masters of The Universe movie has found its He-Man, but the colorful film will need a central cast who can meet its tonal challenge.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT The upcoming Masters of The Universe film has found its lead, but He-Man’s catalog of heroes and villains has yet to be cast. Masters of The Universe originated with a Mattel toy line in 1982, quickly followed by the iconic 1983 animated series He-Man and The Masters of The Universe.
Man-At-Arms – Wendell Pierce Man-At-Arms is typically depicted as the inventor of most of Castle Grayskull’s weaponry and vehicles, who also serves as a senior military adviser to the crown as well as a mentor to Prince Adam/He-Man. The part would require someone with the gravity of a father figure, the serious bearing of a military man, and the quiet sharpness of an inventor.
Teela – Saoirse Ronan Teela is the headstrong captain of the palace’s Royal Guard and the adopted daughter of Man-At-Arms. She’s generally positioned as He-Man’s ally and the protector and trainer of his alter-ego. Saoirse Ronan strikes a powerful resemblance to the appearance of Teela in the original 1980s cartoon He-Man and The Masters of The Universe.
