Cars on the Road Trailer Teases Lightning McQueen & Mater’s Epic Road Trip
spin-off series, featuring the return of Owen Wilson and Larry the Cable Guy as they reprise their respective roles as best friends Lightning McQueen and Mater. It is slated to make its debut on September 8 as part of the Disney+ Day celebration.
“The series is a romp across the country with Lightning McQueen and Mater,” director Steve Purcell said in a statement. “Like any real road trip, every day is a new mini-adventure with unexpected twists and turns.”trailer, which you can check out below along with the key art poster, offers us a preview of Lightning McQueen and Mater’s epic road trip, with the racing star accompanying Mater to his sister’s wedding. It teases the different characters they’ll meet along the way.
The Disney+ series is produced by Marc Sondheimer, with composer Jake Monaco set to score. Episodes are directed by Steve Purcell , Bobby Podesta and Brian Fee . “It follows Lightning McQueen and his best friend Mater as they head east from Radiator Springs on a cross-country road trip to meet up with Mater’s sister,” reads the series’ synopsis., which was followed by two more sequels in 2011 and 2017 as well as two spinoff films:
