Carrie Underwood has confirmed that she will perform at President-elect Donald Trump ’s inauguration on Monday, Jan. 20. Following reports from Variety and multiple outlets that Underwood has been tapped to sing “America the Beautiful” at the Washington, D.C., ceremony, the country music singer addressed her involvement in the upcoming inauguration in a statement sent to TODAY.com.
“We are announcing today that VILLAGE PEOPLE have accepted an invitation from President Elect Trump’s campaign to participate in inaugural activities, including at least one event with President Elect Trump,” Willis said. “We know this wont make some of you happy to hear however we believe that music is to be performed without regard to politics.” He continued, “Our song ‘Y.M.C.A.
