Music legend Carlos Santana has been forced to postpone his upcoming shows after suffering a broken finger in an accidental fall while on vacation.

Carlos Santana performs during 2023 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival at Fair Grounds Race Course on May 04, 2023 in New Orleans, Louisiana.Santana’s team explained that he was on a walk at his Kauai vacation home when he “took a hard fall” and broke his “little finger on his left hand.”

“He had to have pins inserted in the finger,” wrote Michael Vrionis, President of Universal Tone Management, in an Instagram statement. “Unfortunately, he won’t be able to play guitar for approximately six weeks.”“Doctors do say that he will recuperate fully,” Vrionis added, describing the fall as accidental. “Carlos is doing well and is anxious to be back on stage soon. He just needs to heal.”

Santana was scheduled to start an eight-show run of his An Intimate Evening with Santana on Jan. 22 at Mandalay Bay’s House of Blues. Now, the shows will be rescheduled, and tickets will be honored on the new dates. “Santana profoundly regrets these postponements of his upcoming performances, but accidents happen, and his health is our number one concern,” added Vrionis. “He is looking forward to seeing all of his fans very soon.”

Santana’s first scheduled back, following the canceled dates, will be on April 16 at the Yaamava Casino before one-off shows of his Oneness Tour in Albuquerque, Phoenix, San Antonio, and Tulsa in April. He’ll return to the Las Vegas residency on May 14. He’s scheduled for a European tour all summer.
