Police say Robert F. Garrett kept a key to a Speedway store he worked at after being fired, and kept going back after-hours to help himself to the merchandise.

Joe Hermitt | [email protected] - A one-time police officer was arrested on burglary and retail theft charges Wednesday after an investigation launched by a local convenience store found he had entered the store - where he’d worked until May - some 27 times after-hours since then to steal different merchandise.

Robert F. Garrett, 43, of 502 N. Bedford St., was arrested shortly before 7 p.m. when Carlisle Police came to his home to serve a search warrant related to the burglary probe.
