A local cargo boat was detained by the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (Maritim Malaysia) Tawau Maritime Zone on suspicion of carrying various cosmetics and health goods without permit, early Saturday.
Tawau Maritime Zone Director, Captain Shahrizan Raman said, the boat was spotted moving suspiciously from Sebatik Island to Tawau waters when the maritime enforcement was carrying its Ops Sejahtera/Ops Pluto Timur.He said the boat was detained at 0.4 nautical miles south of Kuala Sg Tawau and found a man without identification documents who acted as the boat skipper.
